Monday Motivation!

Hi Dolls!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I've been meaning to post this quote for a week now because it is parallel to what I've been struggling with recently. I have so many high hopes for my business and blog that sometimes I feel my hard work isn't showing the results I'd hope for. I am very grateful for the things that I have accomplished thus far and I take this platform very serious, but at times it is more than disheartening to not see my vision come to life after months of hard work. I am always told that all things will be what they will be in due time, it's not something I often want to hear, but it is something I need to hear to remember to keep going. If you've been working hard towards a goal, but feel like your not getting the results you wish, trust that what you want to achieve will come to you at the right time. Continue to work hard and remember to Keep the faith!

BA*STAR Natural Shadow Palette

Hey Loves!

I have always been a true die hard fan of MAC makeup and eye palettes in particular, but recently I had the pleasure to try out a new makeup line called BA Star. I hadn't heard of them before this, but when I received their eye kit, I was excited to give it try. I received their natural shadow palette that contained three mineral eye shadows: Bronze, Cocoa, Nude and two glitter gels: Gold & Crystal.  I decided to create a natural look (below) for medium to darker skin tones using all the colors of the palette for my lids. I used the bronze on my entire lid, cocoa in the crease and nude for the highlight of the brow and inner corners of my eyes. Then I added shimmer, mixing the gold & crystal glitter gel, just to add a brighter and fun look. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this makeup and how smooth the colors came out. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but I love it. And the best part about this is it's very inexpensive, which for a fashionista on a budget, that's always a plus!

Natural Shadow Palette

  • ·        Small convenient case with eye brush
  • ·        Lid opens to control mess
  • ·        High pigmentation
  • ·        Satin Finish
  • ·        Price is budget friendly

Cons:
  • ·        Messy glitter
  • ·        Glitter doesn't go on evenly

5 color shadow palette: $8.75 (get it here) or try a sample.

Here's the finished look below using the eye palette:

Eye shadow: BA Star Natural Palette
Foundation: MAC Studio Finish NC50
Lipstick: Berry by Mary Kay
Eyeliner: NYC in Black
Mascara: Loreal Double Extend in Black
Lip Gloss: Bon Bon in bubblegum

Spring-in some CASH!

Hey dolls!

It's the springtime and one of the things I think of most, besides the beautiful sunny weather, is spring cleaning; particularly closet purging.

I hate cleaning out my closet just as much as anyone because you never want to part with all those items you've grown to love over the past few months or longer or (if your like me) you're just too lazy to do it. Well as any fashionista would know, you can't add all the fun, flirty new trends to your closet with all the old crap taking up space so what do you do about it? Well, you could stop shopping all together, but that's not likely, or you could get rid of few things you've outgrown and turn those items into cash.

If you have items that have been gently worn, but are still in good condition, why not sell them to make a little money for the new items you'll be adding this Spring?

Here's a list of some of best sites/stores to sell unwanted items from your closet:

1.) Threadflip
2.) Poshmark
3.) Dresm
4.) Tradesy
5.) Plato's Closet
6.) EBay
7.) Asos Marketplace

Most of the online selling sites collect a fee for selling items on their sites. It's usually 10 percent or so. Make sure you read the requirements and price your items accordingly.

Good luck and Happy Selling!

xoxo,
Chi
