I had the great pleasure in attending an up-and-coming designer's fashion show this past weekend for the launch of her chic ready-to-wear collection. This local Tampa designer, Naomi McGregor, launched her line "NALI", which was inspired by her native island of Jamaica and showcased her feminine silhouettes with a retro, caribbean flair. She titled her collection "The Yvette Collection" which was named after and dedicated to her grandmother.
The show took place on June 2nd at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Downtown Tampa. It was quite the event, equipped with a phenomenal DJ playing native caribbean music, along with an up-and-coming hip hop music group known as L.E.G. The venue also showcased other emerging fashion/accessory designers such as Bella Contessa Jewelry. It was definitely an exciting evening of fashion, fun and music!
The fashion show was great to see. I could pick out five attire i would definitely wear. Nali is very talented. I love her style of clothing.
